The Nebraska Water Leaders Academy was created to bring together folks from varied professional backgrounds and experiences to participate in a year-long educational journey to learn about the significance of what water means to our state. Along the way, they are being built to become impactful leaders and purveyors of stewardship in managing water for future generations. Support of the Water Futures Partnership—Nebraska will secure the future of the Academy’s operation into perpetuity.
Bringing people together to inclusively discuss issues and concerns helps to solve problems and create new approaches to addressing water concerns across Nebraska. Building relationships and tapping into the collective talents of a variety of professionals through “Think Tanks” and bridging information-networks with educational symposiums bodes well for a marriage of creative solutions. The Water Futures Partnership—Nebraska will ensure that these gatherings will encourage critical thinking.

The recent documentary: “Nebraska: The Great American Water Machine” was a recent success that was professionally produced covering water history, development, and use of Nebraska’s water. It was shown through public television stations around the United States and abroad. The continued production of these documentaries, along with education video vignettes, graphically reach a global audience and can draw attention to how Nebraska manages water that enters and exits the state. The Water Futures Partnership—Nebraska can produce this imagery for all to see.
